Patterns [2025]
Screen-printing, letterpress, 128 pages, 32x32cm

This project questions color combination and pattern creation with overlaying prints. It is inspired by the aesthetics of modern printing bitmaps, using lines and spheres to recreate image colors by overlapping colored layers.

These very intuitive figures were all screen printed using a single B2 frame and six square motifs, with a palette made of 12 different inks. The result is a book with prints you can feel with your fingers, and in which your eyes can become dizzy, inviting the reader to get lost in its pages.

This one of one book was made thanks to Christina Hallstrom, Vic Hoogstoel and Gersande Schellinx from Rietveld Academie’s screen printing and bookbinding workshops.
